The Artist Formerly Known as Prince "Rogers Nelson" Dies at 57
Popular musician Prince (or the artist formerly known as Prince) died at the age of 57 in his Paisley Park, Minnesota home on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Prince, whose real name is Rogers Nelson, pioneered genre combining music with rock, funk and jazz and sold over 100 million records during his successful career. He was born in 1958 and shot to fame for his best known hits including Let's Go Crazy and When Doves Cry.Despite rumours surrounding his sexual orientation, Prince has maintained a gender fluid sexuality that positioned him as both a music visionary, as well as a branding icon. Prince had rebranded himself numerous times, at one point changing his name to a symbol that mixed the male and female icons and blended in the Egyptian ankh representing good health.

Wes Craven dies at 76 of Brain Cancer
Cult action horror director, Wes Craven, died at the age of 76 on Sunday, August 30, 2015 after a horrific battle with brain cancer. The "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Scream" director was survived by his family and died in his Los Angeles home.
Craven's films were celebrated by industry fans, such as John Carpenter and horror genre veterans like Eli Roth, Rob Zombie, David Cronenberg, Clive Barker, Sam Raimi, George A. Romero and Neil Marshall!
Craven's movies helped pioneer fright flicks and the art of realistic violence and horror tropes (such as the serial killer who quietly stalks his prey, only to show up at the last second of a chase scene).

Leonard Nimoy dies at 83
Leonard Nimoy, best known for his role as Mr. Spock on the popular sci-fi Star Trek series, died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at the age of 83 in Los Angeles on February 27, 2015. His character was a half-human, half-Vulcan that had spawned a series of films, TV spin-offs, movies and even games.
He was admitted to the hospital after suffering chest pains on February 19 and had even tweeted from the hospital

Singer/Writer Lesley Gore dies at 68
Lesley Gore, best known for her song "It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to" in 1963 at age 16, died Monday at the ripe age of 68. Lesley died of lung cancer in Manhattan, New York University's Langone Medica Centre. She is survived by her wive/partner, Lois Sasson, who has been with the crooner for over 33 years.
Lesley also performed "You don't own me", a song that would quickly become the feminist anthem. She was born and riased in New York and discovered by the legendary Quincy Jones, before singing to Mercury Records. She even played catwoman's sidekick in the classic cult TV comedy show Batman. Gore is also succeeded by her brother, mother and cousins.
